Our Residency Department

The Graduate Medical Education Program at Sovah Health - Danville is accredited by the ACGME and dedicated to training physicians to be the best possible primary care physicians. The program began July 1, 2010 and is affiliated with the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine (VCOM) and Liberty University College of Osteopathic Medicine (LUCOM).

Sovah Residency Mission & Goals

MISSION:

To train and develop QUALIFIED, COMPETENT, & COMPASSIONATE physicians who are committed to addressing the health care needs of the community of Danville, Virginia and other underserved communities.

GOALS:

  • Positively impact the community of Danville, VA
  • Utilize GME to uniquely accomplish the mission, vision, and goals of Sovah Health and Lifepoint in our region
  • Be a model GME program regionally and nationally
  • Maintain ACGME accreditation for our institution and residency programs
